About Laser Hair Removal

What can I expect with laser hair removal?

You may experience a snapping sensation during the procedure and after, some redness or swelling. The redness usually abates after 15 minutes. If you are concerned about discomfort, take a pain reliever 30 minutes before your appointment. Avoid hair removal just before and during your period! If you are sensitive to pain, there are topical anesthetics you can use before your treatment. Ask Laura for more information on topicals.

How effective is the laser at removing hair?

Laser hair removal is not a perfect science so results vary from person to person and body part to body part. Generally, one can expect a 60 to 80 percent reduction after 6 to 8 treatments. For a man’s shoulders, back or chest, more treatments will be required to reduce the hair. If the hair does grow back, it’s likely to be thinner and lighter and more sparse. For stubborn hairs that do not respond to laser, electrolysis is the ideal option.

What areas can you treat?

Anywhere except the hair on your scalp, in your nose and ear canal and any hair growing in mucous membranes.

May I have laser hair removal if I have a medical condition?

Laser hair removal is safe for most people. However, there are some medical conditions that are contraindicated. Before the treatment we will discuss your health and medical history in detai to ensure that laser hair removal is right for you.

Does laser hair removal work on all skin tones?

Yes, technology has improved since the 1990’s so all skin tones can be treated safely with my equipment.

Do you sell packages?

Yes, packages are more economical. Ask Laura about package pricing.
